Most click-lock laminate and vinyl plank floors need an underlayment. This 2mm foam roll with integrated vapour barrier handles both jobs at once — the foam cushions the floor slightly and absorbs minor subfloor imperfections, while the poly vapour barrier below protects against moisture vapour migrating up from concrete.
The 200 sq ft roll is sized right for most room-sized projects. A single roll does a typical 12×15 bedroom with a bit to spare for waste.
When to use this
- Laminate or click vinyl over concrete slab on grade or below grade
- Main floor or basement installations
- When the floor manufacturer calls for a 2mm underlayment with vapour barrier
When to use something else
- Over wood subfloor on upper floors (usually no vapour barrier needed)
- If your flooring already has underlayment pre-attached
