Floor protection film goes down after your floor installation and stays down until everyone else is done — painters, cabinet installers, electricians, whoever is coming through next.
The 72ft × 3ft roll (216 sq ft) is sized to protect a significant area — several rooms or a full kitchen and hallway combination.

Pro Tip: Overlap the edges by 4–6" and tape the seams — gaps between sections are where scrapers, ladder feet, and boot heels find their way onto the floor. Also tape down the leading edges so they don't catch and pull up under foot traffic. Remove promptly when work is complete — leaving protection film for weeks can cause adhesive residue, especially in warm conditions.
