Description
Description
The 240V DITRA-HEAT cable is the right choice for most heated tile floors — it draws half the amps of 120V for the same heat output, which means you can heat larger areas on a single circuit. Required by code in Quebec.
- Twin-conductor twisted-pair design produces essentially zero EMF — snaps directly into DITRA-HEAT and DITRA-HEAT-DUO membranes with no clips or self-leveler needed
- Delivers approximately 11W per sq ft at standard 3-stud spacing — warm enough to be the primary heat source in a well-insulated bathroom
- Available in multiple lengths from 21 to 635 sq ft coverage — one cable per thermostat circuit (up to 15A), add a power module for larger zones
Pro tip: Measure your actual tileable area (exclude vanities, toilets, tubs) and pick the cable length closest to that number. You can't cut heating cable shorter, but you can tighten the spacing slightly.

120V vs 240V — What’s the difference?
* Coverage values are from Schluter’s official product specifications at standard 3” cable spacing in DITRA-HEAT membrane. When multiple cables are required, each cable must be on its own thermostat circuit. Confirm sizing with a licensed electrician before purchasing.

How DITRA-HEAT Works in 4 Steps
1. Install the membrane
Bond DITRA-HEAT to your substrate with unmodified thinset. Works over concrete, plywood, or OSB subfloors.
2. Snap in the cable
Run the DITRA-HEAT-E-HK cable between the studs at 3″ spacing. No mesh, no staples, no plywood overlay.
3. Tile right over it
Apply thinset and set tile, stone, or LVT directly on the studs. The membrane stays as your waterproof, uncoupled layer.
4. Set your thermostat
Wire the included floor sensor to any DITRA-HEAT thermostat — basic, touchscreen, or WiFi smart — and you’re heating.
