The KERDI-SHOWER-LT changes what's possible on a shower floor. Traditional center-drain trays slope in four directions — that means every large tile gets cut on four angles and the pattern never lines up cleanly. With a linear drain tray, the entire floor slopes in one direction toward a single channel drain at the perimeter. Large-format tiles (12×24", 24×48", even 24×24") can run straight across the floor with minimal cuts. The result is a floor that looks intentional, not compromised.

These trays are made from expanded polystyrene foam with KERDI waterproofing integrated on the surface. No mortar bed required — set in thin-set, tile the same day.

Available Sizes

  • 39" × 39" (100 × 100 cm)
  • 48" × 48" (122 × 122 cm)
  • 55" × 55" (140 × 140 cm)
  • 36" × 55" (91 × 140 cm)
  • 36" × 72" (91 × 183 cm)
  • 38" × 76" (97 × 193 cm)

Two variants: LT = drain in the center of one long edge. LTS = drain offset toward one corner, for layouts where the drain needs to be tight against a wall.

Installation Notes

  • Bond tray to substrate with Schluter ALL-SET (wood subfloor) or SET (concrete) — full mortar coverage under the tray
  • Pairs specifically with KERDI-LINE linear drain — size the KERDI-LINE channel length to match your drain wall
  • Both the LT and LTS trays have reduced perimeter height — designed for curbless (barrier-free) shower construction
  • Apply KERDI-BAND at all floor/wall transitions per standard KERDI installation
  • Trim the tray with a utility knife if needed — EPS foam cuts cleanly

Pro Tips

  • The single-plane slope is the whole point. Lay out your large-format tiles across the floor first (dry run) before setting. With a linear drain, you can often run full tiles wall-to-wall with a single cut row at the drain wall — far less waste and labour than a center-drain layout.
  • Curbless design opens up these trays for accessibility. The low perimeter height makes it easy to build a zero-threshold shower entry — no step-over for mobility-restricted users and a cleaner look for everyone else.
  • Check rough-in alignment early. Your drain pipe rough-in needs to hit the drain channel position on the LT/LTS tray. Confirm your rough-in location against the tray dimensions before any concrete is poured or subfloor is cut.
  • LT vs. LTS: If your drain rough-in is centered on one wall, use LT. If it's in a corner, use LTS. Field-adjusting a pre-sloped tray isn't practical, so get this right before you order.

Who Should Buy This

Anyone installing large-format tile on a shower floor, anyone building a curbless or barrier-free shower, and anyone who wants the clean modern look of a wall-to-wall drain line instead of a center drain grate. Increasingly the go-to choice for master bathrooms and luxury shower builds.

System pairing: KERDI-LINE linear drain body + KERDI-LINE grate kit (SOLID, SQUARE, or TILE cover), KERDI membrane for walls, Schluter ALL-SET or SET mortar.
