Round drain grates have a different visual language than square — they soften the geometry of the shower floor and integrate naturally with mosaic tile patterns, pebble floors, and curved design elements. If your shower has organic forms or smaller tile formats, round often reads better than square.

6" vs. 4" grate — why go bigger?

The 4" grate is the standard for most residential showers. Upgrade to 6" when you have high water volume (rain heads, multiple body sprays, or large-format showerheads), large shower footprints where a 4" grate would look out of proportion, or a design concept where the drain is a featured element rather than something to hide.

Pro tips

• 6" grates don't have lateral adjustment — only height and tilt. Position your KERDI-DRAIN body carefully during rough-in to get the grate centered exactly where you want it
• Grate replaces separately — if the grate ever gets damaged or you want to update the look, you can swap grates without disturbing the drain body or waterproofing
• Match your drain finish to other fixtures — brushed stainless pairs with brushed nickel hardware; if your fixtures are matte black or oil-rubbed bronze, look at the KERDI-DRAIN Trendline color-coated options
