Schluter® KERDI-DRAIN-F Drain Flange — Universal Replacement Body
The KERDI-DRAIN-F is the drain flange body that makes the whole KERDI waterproofing system work at its most critical point: where the membrane meets the drain. The polypropylene flange has an integrated KERDI collar — the waterproofing membrane bonds directly into it, creating a sealed connection between the floor membrane and the drain body.
If you're replacing an existing drain, upgrading an old installation, or need a standalone flange before choosing a grate, this is your part. Compatible with PVC and ABS 2" drain pipe (couplings for both included).
What's Included
- 1 polypropylene flange with integrated KERDI waterproofing collar
- 1 PVC 2" coupling (solvent cement connection)
- 1 ABS 2" coupling (solvent cement connection)
- 1 construction cover (protects drain during tiling)
- 1 height adjustment collar
Grate kit sold separately — select CLASSIC, CONTOUR, STYLE, or TILE grate in your preferred finish.
Compatibility Notes
- Works with KERDI, DITRA, and DITRA-XL membrane assemblies
- Height adjustment collar accommodates different tile thicknesses
- Not compatible with tileable grates or 6" grates — those require different flange bodies
- Standard 4" grate frame with ~1/8" reveal after installation
Installation Notes
- Connect to drain pipe before installing the membrane — solvent cement the appropriate coupling (ABS or PVC) to your rough-in pipe
- Set the flange body in thin-set mortar at the correct height for your tile thickness
- Bond KERDI or DITRA membrane onto the KERDI collar flange using thin-set — minimum 2" overlap onto the flange on all sides
- Use KERDI-FIX sealant if bonding a DITRA or stainless assembly (instead of thin-set)
- Install height adjustment collar to match final tile surface height
- Add grate kit after tiling — the two-part assembly (frame + grate) locks into place
Pro Tips
- The construction cover is important. Leave it in place during tiling and grouting to keep mortar and grout out of the drain body. Remove before installing the grate frame.
- Set drain height accurately. The top of the grate frame should sit flush with (or just below) the finished tile surface. Measure your tile + mortar stack thickness before setting the flange.
- Test water flow before tiling. Pour water down the drain after bonding the membrane to confirm the connection is waterproof and there are no slow spots.
Who Should Buy This
Contractors who stock components separately, homeowners replacing an existing Schluter drain body, or anyone who bought a grate kit and needs the matching flange. Also useful when the existing drain body is damaged and only the flange needs replacement — you can swap the body and keep your existing grate.
