KERDI-BOARD-SN is a prefabricated shower niche made entirely from KERDI-BOARD: fully waterproof, tile-ready out of the box, and light enough to carry in one hand.

The integrated 2"-wide bonding flange on all four sides lets you seal the niche into your KERDI or KERDI-BOARD wall assembly with KERDI-BAND — same waterproofing method as the rest of your shower. No mud. No guessing. Tile goes straight over the KERDI-BOARD surface once the seams are sealed.

Installation in four steps

1. Cut the opening between studs at the right height.
2. Insert the niche, fasten with included screws and KERDI-BOARD-ZT washers.
3. Seal the 2" bonding flange to the wall membrane using KERDI-BAND embedded in thin-set.
4. Tile directly over the KERDI-BOARD surface — the niche and wall are now one continuous waterproof system.

Pro Tip

Plan niche placement before you hang wall board, not after — this is where most people get caught. The niche goes between studs on 16" centers, which means your tile grid has to land cleanly inside a 14.5" opening. Sketch your tile layout first and position the niche so the tile inside it doesn't require awkward cuts. A full tile or clean half tile on each wall of the niche looks intentional. Anything else looks like an afterthought.
