Description
Doing a big open main floor and want real character? This is a full lot of Abode by Kentwood Tempo engineered hickory in Natural: about 1,800 sq ft for $7,950, roughly $4.42 per square foot.
Hickory is known for big board-to-board colour swings, and this natural, unstained board shows them off: pale cream through honey and tan, with dark knots and mineral streaks scattered through. The brushed surface opens up the grain so you can feel it underfoot, and the 7 1/2" width gives the floor a wide, relaxed look.
Hickory is one of the hardest domestic hardwoods, which helps it stand up to kids and pets. This one is engineered, a 2 mm hickory wear layer on a 1/2" (12 mm) core, so it stays flatter and more stable through seasonal humidity swings than solid hardwood.
At 1,800 sq ft there's enough for most main floors, with spares left over.
