Pro Tip: One of the most common laminate installation mistakes is not leaving enough expansion gap at walls. With wide-plank laminate that spans more area, the movement is slightly more pronounced than narrow plank. Stick to a consistent 3/8" gap all the way around the perimeter, and behind baseboards. Nail the baseboards to the wall, never to the floor — the floor needs to float freely underneath.
