Pro Tip: For a cleaner finish on open-riser stairs, measure the exact width of each tread individually — they're often not all the same. A nosing cut 1/8" short leaves a visible gap at the wall; a nosing cut 1/8" long won't seat properly. Measure each tread, mark each cut.
