Description
DITRA-XL is the heavy-duty version of DITRA — 5/16" thick instead of 1/8", with deeper mortar columns under the tile for better performance over substrates with higher anticipated movement, under heavy natural stone, or in commercial applications.
- Same polyethylene grid and dovetail cavity system as standard DITRA — four functions (uncoupling, waterproofing, vapour management, load distribution) in a thicker profile
- 175 sq ft roll at 33" wide x 53.3' long — contractor-friendly size for large format stone and high-movement substrates
- Deeper cavities mean thicker mortar columns, which better accommodate lateral substrate movement and support heavier tile assemblies
Pro tip: Use DITRA-XL when installing large-format natural stone (12x24 and up) or over substrates you're not fully confident in. For standard ceramic and porcelain on solid subfloors, regular DITRA is sufficient.
