The square 6" Classic grate kit for KERDI-DRAIN — brushed stainless steel, larger footprint, clean geometric lines. The 6" square frame makes a stronger design statement than the standard 4" grate and provides a wider drain opening for high-volume shower applications.

Who should buy the 6" Classic vs. the 4" Classic

• 4" Classic: Right for most residential showers — standard water flow, balanced proportions in 3'×3' to 4'×6' shower footprints
• 6" Classic: Better for larger shower footprints (5'×5' and above), rain head or multi-spray configurations with higher water volume, or when you want the drain to be a visible design feature rather than something you try to minimize

Where Classic fits in the KERDI-DRAIN grate lineup

Classic is the foundation — brushed stainless, available in square and round, no extra design complexity. If you want decorative patterns, look at the Trendline (Floral, Curve, Pure) options. If you want the drain to disappear completely, look at the Tile grate that lets you tile directly on the cover plate. The Classic sits in the middle: visible, quality, and design-neutral.

Pro tips

• Rough-in placement matters more at 6": Because there's no lateral adjustment on 6" frames, your drain body position during concrete work or mortar bed installation needs to be precise. Use a template if possible
• Clean with mild soap only: Stainless steel drain grates don't need special cleaners — avoid harsh abrasives or bleach-based cleaners that can dull the finish over time
• Grate is field-replaceable: The grate assembly attaches to the drain body separately. You can upgrade to a different style or replace a damaged grate without opening the floor
