Description
SCHIENE protects the edge of floor tile where it stops against carpet, at a movement joint, or on a stair edge. Only a thin line of metal, about 1/8" wide, shows at the surface.
The trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg sets into the thin-set, and the 87° wall section carries point loads down to the substrate. Brass, aluminum, anodized and color-coated sizes over 1/4" have a built-in spacer for a 1/16" to 1/8" grout joint; with stainless, leave that gap when you set it. The textured color-coated and TRENDLINE finishes are rated for residential floors.
Plain aluminum reacts with alkaline mortar and grout. Clean them off the visible face and fill every cavity so water can't sit against the metal.
