DITRA-HEAT-DUO adds a thermal break and sound control layer to the standard DITRA-HEAT membrane. Reach for this when the floor is above another living space, over a cold garage, or in a condo where impact noise transmission matters.
- 5/16" (8mm) thick — performs the same four functions as standard DITRA-HEAT (uncoupling, waterproofing, vapour management, load distribution) plus integrated sound and thermal insulation
- 108 sq ft roll at 32-5/8" wide — heating cables snap directly into the stud pattern, same as standard DITRA-HEAT
- Thermal break reduces downward heat loss into the subfloor, so more energy goes into warming your tile instead of heating the ceiling below
Pro tip: On a concrete slab over an unheated space (garage, crawlspace), the DUO's thermal break makes a real difference in heating efficiency. On a second floor over heated space, standard DITRA-HEAT is usually sufficient.

How DITRA-HEAT Works in 4 Steps
1. Install the membrane
Bond DITRA-HEAT to your substrate with unmodified thinset. Works over concrete, plywood, or OSB subfloors.
2. Snap in the cable
Run the DITRA-HEAT-E-HK cable between the studs at 3″ spacing. No mesh, no staples, no plywood overlay.
3. Tile right over it
Apply thinset and set tile, stone, or LVT directly on the studs. The membrane stays as your waterproof, uncoupled layer.
4. Set your thermostat
Wire the included floor sensor to any DITRA-HEAT thermostat — basic, touchscreen, or WiFi smart — and you’re heating.
