Description
Description
Electric heating cable for a Schluter heated tile floor. It snaps into DITRA-HEAT membrane with no clips, fasteners or self-leveler, and only one end runs back to the thermostat. Lengths here cover 10.7 to 134 sq ft.
The 120V DITRA-HEAT cable is the right call for smaller heated floor areas where you already have a 120V circuit nearby. Same zero-EMF twisted-pair construction and snap-in installation as the 240V version, just sized for a lighter electrical load.
- Twin-conductor design snaps directly into DITRA-HEAT and DITRA-HEAT-DUO membranes — no clips, staples, or self-leveling compound needed
- Works with all DITRA-HEAT thermostats (E-R, E-RT, E-WiFi, E-RS1) — each thermostat includes a built-in GFCI as required by code
Pro tip: If your heated area exceeds 120 sq ft, price out a 240V circuit instead — the wire gauge is smaller, the cable costs are similar, and you'll have room to expand the system later.
Common questions
120V or 240V?
Match the cable to the voltage of the circuit feeding the thermostat. 120V suits smaller areas such as bathrooms and ensuites where a 120V circuit is close by.
Which length do I need?
Pick the cable that matches the heated floor area, not the room size: leave out vanities, tubs and toilets. Heating cable can't be cut shorter.
Which thermostats work with it?
All DITRA-HEAT thermostats: E-R, E-RT, E-WiFi and E-RS1.

120V vs 240V — What’s the difference?
* Coverage values are from Schluter’s official product specifications at standard 3” cable spacing in DITRA-HEAT membrane. When multiple cables are required, each cable must be on its own thermostat circuit. Confirm sizing with a licensed electrician before purchasing.

How DITRA-HEAT Works in 4 Steps
1. Install the membrane
Bond DITRA-HEAT to your substrate with unmodified thinset. Works over concrete, plywood, or OSB subfloors.
2. Snap in the cable
Run the DITRA-HEAT-E-HK cable between the studs at 3″ spacing. No mesh, no staples, no plywood overlay.
3. Tile right over it
Apply thinset and set tile, stone, or LVT directly on the studs. The membrane stays as your waterproof, uncoupled layer.
4. Set your thermostat
Wire the included floor sensor to any DITRA-HEAT thermostat — basic, touchscreen, or WiFi smart — and you’re heating.
